Day 10: Wednesday 11/17/10 - Morelia to Cuernavaca - Road Warriors

The pleasant morning in our historic Morelia hotel included skyping with Justin & Julia, with Gene Ward, and voice only with Carol. I had fun with a couple of Asian women tourists that asked to have their pictures taken with me - it’s the beard. The nearby Mexicans were highly amused.

The drive had some low points that in retrospect were quite amusing. Finding one’s way in Mexico is an adventure. Signs didn’t work, GPS didn’t work, the maps didn’t work without dead reckoning. We struggled to find our way out of Morelia; the drive on the Cuota was magnificent as usual; Mexico DF threw us for a loop as feared (we covered NE DF to its NW quadrant and then all the way through to its SW – all in a slow crawl.) We were sightseeing from the road.

The last challenge was finding our finely crafted Inn in Cuernavaca– Sanctuary and fine dinner. One joyous feeling was when we found out we were inadvertently on our target route in CV Centro 1 km away.
