Day 32: Tabacon Thermal Resort - Thursday December 9, 2010

Tabacon is a wonderful place to take a day of rest. The grounds of both the hotel and the thermal spa are dreamlike – many of our houseplants are in their natural environment and on steroids due to the volcanic ash that periodically rains here. The flowers are dazzling – check the pictures. I was happy just existing.

Over a dozen pools of varying sizes are cut into the thermal river and set against waterfalls – muy agredable! The pools were progressively cooler going downstream. The perfect pool is nearest to the slide into the pool that takes one to the bar for a delicious passion fruit margarita. It easy to see why there are so many honeymooners here. The food is international and good. Most of the guests are American and German due to the cost being comparable to Hawaii resorts and worth it.
