Day 47: Christmas Eve in Cartagena - Friday December 24, 2010

We spent the cool of the morning walking all around the walled city and beyond. It is well deserving of World Heritage designation. The tamales at the festival were banana leaf wrapped rice with some meat – Caribe style. We are out of the corn tamale area. Three Cartagena Colombian hats caught our fancy, but the emeralds did not. The non-tourist areas were very lively, without the hawkers. Enjoy the pictures! We keep ordering the "Pargo entero" (entire red snapper) and arroz con mariscos. The city was much quieter in this evening and very pretty.
