Day 3 – Nov 10 Wed: Mulege to Cabo - Surfer dude to fat cat

One thing that helped Mulege make a good impression on us is that the room at the best authentic adobe hotel, full dinner for 2, including 4 Modelos, and 2 breakfasts was $88. Compare this to the best rates at the Sheraton Hacienda del Mar at Cabo, including 2 rounds at the Del Sol Ocean Course & breakfast for 2 costing roughly $1,000. We are definitely back in Gringo territory.

The drive was magnificent – the Baja of my youth—mountains, cactus, deserts and beautiful empty beaches. (A flock of some 100 vultures were perched on saguaros causing The Duck to ask that we not stop for pictures.) I can’t believe the amount of bogus security – The Mexicans were serviced and we were waved through. Technology is worthless in Baja except for the American resorts: The navigation system was totally bogus; wi-fi – are you kidding? Even internet access is only for those who can afford it. We made our destination on time, but back to Gringolandia.
